Modern Design Innovation Means Convenience For You: Hookless Shower Curtains
Have you ever tried to change your old-fashioned shower curtain? Traditional bathroom fixtures required a fixed shower rod, so the only way to hang the older-type curtain was through the use of hooks. And boy, didn't we struggle with those? Getting all the hooks lined up right, and making sure that some did not fall off the rod - and having to pull the shower curtain off and put them all back on if they did - made for some uncomfortable bending and stretching!
But we don't have to put up with all that today - we have the option of using hookless shower curtains.
What Types of Hookless Shower Curtains Are Available?
Hookless shower curtains employ the latest in design innovations to remove all the frustration associated with all those old-fashioned hook-and-eye shower curtains. All hookless shower curtain types allow you to attach the shower curtain to the hanging rod in some other way -- Closed Metal Loops. With this type you won't waste time threading a metal loop through each eyelet. Instead, hookless shower curtains that use closed metal loops have loops for hanging directly attached to the fabric of the shower curtain. The loops extend upwards, allowing you to slip them easily through the shower hanging rod. Embedded Rings. This type of hookless shower curtain has the hanging rings directly embedded into the shower curtain fabric. To avoid the need for using hooks, the embedded rings are themselves threaded through the hanging rod. Tie-Ons. Remember the tie strings on the corners of furniture cushions - how they keep the cushion in place? Now imagine a shower curtain with many pairs of short strings along the top edge, and you have the tie-on type of hookless shower curtains. These are far less convenient than the other types, as you will still need to tie the strings together over the hanging rod, but this is a good choice for those who dont want to replace their older shower rod. Other Types. Some other approaches to hookless shower curtains utilize such novelties as Velcro, snaps and buttons. Some shower curtains simply have the top edge of the fabric folded over and sewn into a long, continuous loop, which is then threaded through the rod (this requires the use of a removable shower rod). It is important to note that many hookless shower curtains also require you to purchase new hardware - particularly new hanging rods - that will fit the eyelets of the curtain. This means that you will have to install this new hardware (or have someone else do it). This will also increase your total costs for installation (curtains + new hardware + installer charges). Whichever type you choose, you can be thankful that you don't have to struggle as homeowners did in the past; design innovation means convenience for you!
